Grief Resources

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened”
– Anatole France

Complimentary Pet Loss & Bereavement Counseling

Losing a pet can be one of the hardest experiences to go through. WVRC has partnered with Red Oak Counseling to provide a free monthly pet loss support group.

Held on the first Tuesday of the month from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m., each pet loss counseling session is in a group format, conducted in a safe, quiet environment at Red Oak Counseling’s office: 12970 W. Bluemound Road, Elm Grove, WI.

All of the staff at Red Oak Counseling are licensed professionals specializing in mental health and AODA issues.

Let Red Oak Counseling’s monthly pet loss group give you the support you need. Call Coleen Kittelson, LPC, NCC at Red Oak Counseling at 262-780-1020 for more information.

Pet Parent Resource Center

The resource center on Veterinary Wisdom Pet Parents is filled with online articles to help families cope with end of life decisions, cancer, kids and grief, how to move on after euthanasia, and so much more. They will help guide you through and make the best decisions for you and your pets.

Learn More about Specialty Pet Care

ACVS and ACVIM are pleased to announce VetSpecialists.com, a joint effort with the common goal of promoting specialty veterinary medicine to the animal-owning public. VetSpecialists.com provides the content animal owners need to make decisions about their animal’s health. Core to the message is the importance of specialty veterinary medicine and surgery as part of the triad of care – animal owner, primary care practitioner, and specialist.
